Focusing on quality rather than quantity: a new measure of growth

In a context of rising inequality, M. Mlachila, R. Tapsoba, S. Tapsoba developed a new approach to measure the quality of growth. Their measure goes further the Human Development Index by focusing on the inner nature of growth. Their Voxeu post concludes that even if some countries struggle implementing harmonious growth there is a convergence towards more quality and Latin America is the best performer.
